3 Running Backs the Patriots Could Sign After Latest Injury

2. D’Onta Foreman

With the regular season over halfway done, the New England Patriots may turn to a familiar face to address their running back issue. D’Onta Foreman never played for the New England Patriots, but he did spend a few years with Mike Vrabel in Tennessee. After suffering injuries early in his career, the former third-round pick revived his career with a solid 2021 in place of an injured Derrick Henry.

2021 was a long time ago, but familiarity might be more important than talent at this stage of the season. Seeing as the Patriots don’t have a way to add a starting-caliber running back at this stage of the season, they might as well add someone the coaches trust, and Foreman is one of the better options from that standpoint.
