The Sam Darnold signing looks like one of the best in football, as the former New York Jets quarterback has the team sitting pretty with a 6-2 record. Darnold and first-round pick Jaxon Smith-Njigba have set the world on fire, but they could use more depth in the passing attack.
With Cooper Kupp sidelined with a hamstring injury, Seattle turned to fifth-round pick Tory Horton against the Washington Commanders. The rookie was up for the task, hauling in four receptions for 48 yards and two touchdowns, but a contender like Seattle shouldn’t put too much faith in an untested Day 3 pick. A Jakobi Meyers trade would ensure Seattle has at least one healthy veteran to complement Smith-Njigba at all times.
