1. Chicago Bears
Head coach Ben Johnson wants to run the football and narrowly missed adding multiple high-level running backs throughout the offseason. While he made do with D’Andre Swift early in the season, the running back will miss Week 9 with a groin injury. This leaves seventh-round rookie Kyle Monangai atop the depth chart, which isn’t a good thing for Johnson’s Bears.
While second-year quarterback Caleb Williams will ultimately determine this team’s ceiling, a Breece Hall trade could set a much-needed floor. Chicago’s offensive line is better than ever, and Hall should find success behind this talented unit. Additionally, Hall’s presence as a pass-catcher should make life easier for Williams, as the former first-overall pick is still struggling to make his reads on time.
