4. Rashid Shaheed, Saints
Sean Payton has never shied away from bringing members of the Saints to the Denver Broncos, and that trend could continue with this wide receiver trade. While Rashid Shaheed never played under Payton in New Orleans, it’s easy to see why this is such a match. The former undrafted free agent has developed into one of the league’s better deep threats. However, he’s entering the final year of his contract, and the cash-strapped Saints probably won’t be able to extend him in the offseason. From a long-term standpoint, the Saints have every reason to try and deal him.
A Rashid Shaheed trade would make the Broncos better, but there’s a reason the undrafted wide receiver is at the bottom of this list. For one, his skillset overlaps with Marvin Mims, and Denver should probably look to add a more unique player to the offense. Secondly, Shaheed is at his best as a vertical threat, and Nix has an inconsistent deep ball. If Denver wants to surround their franchise quarterback with new weapons, it should try to find more of a possession receiver.
