After splitting the 2020 season between Cincinnati and Seattle, Carlos Dunlap lands his next opportunity. Dunlap spent the first ten-plus seasons of his career in Cincinnati. In October, the Bengals traded him to Seattle for offensive lineman B.J. Finney and a seventh-round pick. The trade came after Dunlap publicly voiced frustration with his role in Cincinnati’s defense. He played in only 23% of defensive snaps in his final game with the Bengals. Seattle’s decision to release Dunlap ahead of free agency saved the team $14 million.

Dunlap contributed 20 tackles and six sacks, appearing in 15 games during the 2020 season. Over his career, Dunlap has compiled 87.5 sacks, 20 forced fumbles, and 62 pass deflections. He was only one sack short of passing Eddie Edwards for the Bengals’ franchise sack record (83.5). He also appeared in two Pro Bowls as a member of the Cincinnati Bengals, first in 2015, then again in 2016. While Dunlap won’t pass Edwards in Cincinnati, he does rank 57th among the league’s all-time sack leaders.

Dunlap was selected in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft out of the University of Florida. Playing under Urban Meyer, Dunlap was a member of the 2009 BCS National Championship Team. He was named the Defensive MVP of Florida’s National Championship effort. He also ranked on the All-SEC First Team in 2009. While at Florida, he contributed 26 tackles for loss and 19.5 sacks.

In his spare time, Dunlap contributes to the community and is a restauranteur. He hosted the Carlos Dunlap Foundation Fun Day in 2018. The event provided school supplies, food, blood pressure checks, eye exams, in addition to bounce houses and water slides to 400 families. In 2020, he funded meals for 500 families through a donation to the Lowcountry Food Bank. He also owns Honey Uninhibited, a brunch restaurant in Florida.
