Six-year NFL safety Kenny Vaccaro is expected to sign a four-year, $26 million contract to remain with the Tennessee Titans, per multiple reports. His contract carries with it $11.5 million in guarantees and keeps him with the team until 2022. Vaccaro, a former Texan Longhorn, spent the 2018 season with the Titans. Vaccaro will be 28 years old at the start of the 2019 NFL season.

Kenny Vaccaro to Sign Four-Year Deal With Tennessee Titans
Vaccaro spent the 2018 season on a one-year deal with the Tennessee Titans. Starting and appearing in 13 games, the 27-year old safety recorded 58 tackles, one interception, and two sacks. Vaccaro suffered a dislocated elbow midway through the season but only missed three games with the ailment. In all, Vaccaro finished his season as the 57th-ranked safety in football, per Pro Football Focus.
Vaccaro initially entered the NFL as the New Orleans Saints’ first-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. Selected 13th overall, Vaccaro battled Roman Harper for the starting spot throughout training camp. While he initially served as Harper’s backup, Vaccaro earned the starting spot after Harper suffered a knee injury. Vaccaro made his opportunity count, as the safety finished his rookie season with 79 tackles, one interception, eight passes defended, and one sack.
Vaccaro played out the entirety of his rookie contract with New Orleans before hitting free agency prior to the 2018 season. During his five years in New Orleans, Vaccaro recorded 385 tackles, 7.5 sacks, 30 passes defended, and 19 quarterback hits. His best season as a Saint likely came in the 2015 season. Playing in all 16 games for the first time in his career, Vaccaro finished with a career-high in tackles (104), sacks (three), tackles for loss (six), and quarterback hits (four). He’s since usurped his season highs for tackles for loss and quarterback hits, but his tackles and sack numbers remain the best of his career.
