Another quarterback is unofficially off the market. Former Chicago Bears and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Mike Glennon has reportedly come to terms with the Arizona Cardinals. Glennon hasn’t officially been released by the Bears, but the organization has already announced that they intend to do so at the beginning of the league year. The Bears allowed Glennon to negotiate with new teams. NFL Network’s Tiffany Blackmon had the initial report of the signing.

Report: Arizona Cardinals to Sign Mike Glennon
Glennon entered the league as a third-round pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2013 NFL Draft. The quarterback out of North Carolina State started a combined 18 games in the first two years of his career. Glennon showed potential, throwing for 29 touchdowns and 15 interceptions over that timespan.
However, his promise wasn’t enough to stop Tampa Bay from drafting Jameis Winston with the first overall pick in 2015. Winston’s arrival immediately relegated Glennon to the backup role, and he would only see game action twice after 2015. Glennon’s contract expired after the 2016 season, and was one of the most coveted quarterbacks in free agency.
The Chicago Bears took a chance on Glennon, signing him to a three-year, $45-million dollar contract. Despite the big investment, Chicago still took quarterback Mitch Trubisky with the second overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. Trubisky was seen as a raw product, and the Bears wanted Glennon to start at quarterback while Trubisky learned the ins and outs of NFL quarterbacking.
However, the results didn’t follow the plan. Glennon struggled in his lone season with the Bears. Glennon started just four games, throwing for 833 yards, four touchdowns and five interceptions. Chicago only won one of his starts, and the Bears decided that it was best for Trubisky to learn on the job. Glennon didn’t see a snap the rest of the season and was considered one of the worst free agent additions of 2017.
