Our second game of NHL predictions has the Washington Capitals taking on the red-hot Buffalo Sabres. Charlie Lindgren is the probable starter after Logan Thompson started in the 4-1 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers. Washington is 5-5 in its last 10 games after losing the Philadelphia on Wednesday night. Alex Ovechkin and Tom Wilson are joint leaders in goals scored with 24 this season.

Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen is the likely starter for Buffalo, which has won eight consecutive games and gotten points in nine of the last 10 games. The Sabres are the unlikely leaders atop the Atlantic Division are playing so of their best hockey in over a decade. Tage Thompson is tops in goals (34) and points (70) so far this campaign.

Buffalo has been piling up the goals and Washington is coming off a tough loss on Wednesday. The Sabres should keep momentum going.

Prediction: Sabres win 5-2.
