For episode 58 of the podcast, the boys decide to review their hometown team: the Chicago Blackhawks‘ recent success. Even with the recent injuries suffered by the Hawks, they’re sitting at fourth in the Central Division. The biggest theme behind their success is how well the rookies and young players have been performing. Kevin Lankinen especially, after he secured the starting job a few games into the season over Malcolm Subban and Collin Delia. And it’s not just in the net that the rookies have been showing up. Pius Suter and Philipp Kurashev have been two of the forward rookies lighting up the scoresheet.

Also, the rookies on defence have been strong. While he still has a lot to learn, Ian Mitchell has been playing like a seasoned veteran. That’s another common theme among the new guys: being more mature than their age. They came into a team in a difficult position and have been performing to a high level throughout the season. Tune in next week when Logan, Raffi, and Noah review the best offseason acquisitions!
