Team News, Form and Predicted Line-Up

Southampton were just the second team to win at Coventry this season at the weekend and, despite needing an injury-time equaliser against West Brom, the Saints are in decent form having also knocked Fulham out of the FA Cup in recent weeks. In fact, the South Coast club are currently on a 13-game unbeaten run after a win over Norwich on Wednesday night, which moved them into the playoffs. However, their last defeat did come at St Mary’s, which was just a third on home soil this season.

Cameron Brannagan netted his first goal since November when Oxford were awarded their first penalty in 675 days against the Addicks.

Oxford are still without Tyler Goodrham and Brian De Keersmaecker but there could be a return for Myles Peart-Harris. Przemyslaw Placheta also made his return last time out.

Saints are without Jay Robinson, Mads Roerslev, Ross Stewart and Welington, while they await the fitness of key player, Leo Scienza.

Oxford won the reverse fixture on Boxing Day winning 2-1 at Grenoble Road. That was the first meeting since 1996 when the U’s lost at the Dell in the League Cup. In eight visits to the South Coast, Oxford have never been the winning team, losing seven.
