The Gunners faced Brentford last time out, with the match ending 1-1. David Raya started the game in goal, while Jurrien Timber, Cristhian Mosquera, Gabriel, and Piero Hincapie completed the defence.

In midfield, the Arsenal boss went with Declan Rice, Martin Zubimendi, and Eberechi Eze. In attack, Leandro Trossard and Noni Madueke supported Viktor Gyokeres.

In the pre-match press conference, Arteta discussed Arsenal’s great record in the competition, despite not having gone past the fourth round since 2020.

When asked about making changes for the Wigan game, Arteta said:

“Yes, that’s what we’ve been doing. I mean, try to make sure that everybody is a big part of what we are doing in different competitions and Sunday will be the same.”

Discussing the change of competition (Premier League to FA Cup) Arteta said: “I mean, we are doing that every week. Every three days we are playing different competitions so we are so used to it. So we will reflect on the game [v Brentford], take the positive, the learnings for sure that we have to improve and go on Sunday again with the energy and the batteries fully charged to go and win the game.”

Kai Havertz and Mikel Merino will be missing through injury.
