How Wolves Have Lined Up Recently

Wolves have endured a challenging season, featuring the league’s worst defensive record, just 10 goals scored, and an 11-game losing streak. Last time out, Wolves lost 2-1 away at Liverpool with José Sá in goal and a back three made up of Ladislav Krejčí, Santiago Bueno, and Yerson Mosquera.

The midfield was made up of Hugo Bueno, João Gomes, André, and Matt Doherty. The attackers were Mateus Mané, Hwang Hee-chan, and Tolu Arokodare.

Wolves Recent Form And Tactics

Wolves’ Premier League form has been dreadful. The West Midlands outfit is still without a win; they’ve collected just two points and are sitting at the bottom of the table, with fewer points at Christmas than any team in Premier League history. Defensive fragility and a lack of attacking threat have defined their campaign, with Wolves conceding the most goals in the league and scoring the fewest.

Rob Edwards has primarily set the squad up in a 3-5-2 formation, prioritising defensive structure and compactness. However, limited creativity in midfield and a shortage of cutting edge in the final third have made it difficult for Wolves to sustain pressure or trouble defences.

Injuries And Suspensions To Consider

André will miss the trip to Old Trafford through suspension after getting five yellow cards. During the pre-match press conference, Edwards advised that Santiago Bueno had taken a knock against Liverpool, saying:

“Santiago took a knock as well, so Krejci might be forced to play at the back. If that’s the case, we will have to find another solution in midfield and see how everyone rocks up in training.”

Emmanuel Agbadou is at the AFCON, while Toti Gomes and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde are also both out injured.
