Team News, Form and Predicted Line-Up as Oxford United Welcome Swansea

Oxford United will be looking to secure back-to-back wins for the first time this season when the U’s welcome relegation rivals, Swansea.

Oxford United Welcome Swansea

Team News, Form and Predicted Line-Up

Having lost their first two games under new head coach Vitor Matos, the win over Oxford started a run of three wins in four for the struggling side. The Welsh club picked up victories over Portsmouth and Wrexham but have lost their last two away games against Coventry and Stoke, respectively. In fact, Swansea have failed to win in any of their last seven away fixtures and have one of the worst away records in the division with just eight point from 11 fixtures.

Ben Davies is the latest injury doubt for Oxford after the defender missed the game against the Saints. Matt Phillips and skipper Cameron Brannagan are back in training but not fully fit while Hidde ter Avest remains sidelined.

The Swans are without Manuel Benson, who is at the Africa Cup of Nations with Angola, and Ricardo Santos and Adam Idah through injury.

As mentioned, Swansea won the reverse fixture in South Wales and the U’s are yet to pick up all three points against the Welsh club in three attempts since returning to the second tier. The most famous victory came in 2016 when League Two Oxford won 3-2 against Premier League Swansea in the FA Cup.
