How Leicester City Have Lined Up Recently
In the clash against Derby County, Cifuentes made a few changes amid the growing frustration both on and off the pitch. With Jakub Stolarczyk back, Asmir Begovic returned to the bench, with City’s number one back where he belongs. Leicester City’s Recent Form And Tactics
Although any hopes of Leicester pushing for play-offs were severely hurt by defeats against Southampton and Sheffield United, the response against the Rams was nothing short of spectacular. The 25-year-old put in an impressive display at centre-back against the Blades, a performance which gave the Foxes much more control in possession. Likewise, he found the net for the first time in Royal Blue to further epitomise his improvements. With Winks out, the impetus was always on Skipp to kick on, and he certainly has. He perhaps lacks the intelligence and the volume in terms of passing, but he more than makes up for it with his desire and work rate out of possession.
Aside from this, a more youthful approach that many fans hoped for at the start of the season also seems to be coming into fruition. By the end of the game at Pride Park, six academy graduates were on the pitch for City, which emphasises the quality at their disposal. Not to mention the fact that talented 17-year-old Jake Evans was an unused substitute. The forward signed a new deal with the Foxes in October, despite rumoured interest from clubs such as Manchester United and Spurs.
