Arsenal’s Recent Form
Since an early-season defeat at Anfield, Arsenal have looked dominant, mostly lining up in a 4-3-3 formation. Arteta has dealt with some injuries to key players this season, which they have navigated well, largely due to their excellent business in the summer transfer window.
Despite those injuries, the Arsenal defence has remained consistent, with David Raya starting in goal. Jurrien Timber, Gabriel Magalhães, William Saliba, and Riccardo Calafiori have formed the defence, which has been central to their excellent early form.

Before the Sunderland game, Arsenal hadn’t looked like conceding a goal, while they took their chances and won most games with ease. The direct and pressure tactics from Sunderland seemed to destabilise the Gunners. Could that be a blueprint for teams moving forward? The red half of North London are understandably the favourite for the North London Derby, with most bookies having Arsenal at around 2/5 for the win. Spurs are priced at around 13/2 to get the three points, with the draw at 7/2 with most bookies.
For UK viewers, the Arsenal game will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
Arsenal fans in the U.S. can catch the action on Peacock.
Arsenal Injuries to Consider
At the pre-fight press conference, Arteta discussed the injury suffered by Gabriel on international duty: “Gabi unfortunately picked up an injury with the Brazil national team and he’s going to be out for weeks. We need another scan next Wednesday, and we’ll then have the timeline, probably much clearer than it is at the moment,” said Arteta.
“It’s clearly a blow because he’s our leader in our backline, and to me, it’s never a positive thing. The good thing is that we have very good options and we need to stand up now and do the job,” added the Gunners boss.

Discussing the availability of Riccardo Calafiori, Arteta said: “He wasn’t available [for the international break], he’s been carrying a few things and we had to bring him back. He hasn’t trained yet. Tomorrow we have another training session and we’ll see how he is.”
Addressing the possible return of other long-term absentees, Arteta said: “We’ve put in a lot of energy during the international break, with all the medical staff as well, to try to bring them as quickly as possible. Tomorrow we have another training session, see how some of them are feeling, whether it’s a bit too close for this game, or we feel that they can contribute to the game. So tomorrow we have more clarity.”
