Liverpool Predicted Lineup vs Eintracht Frankfurt for October 22

Liverpool head to Germany for Matchday 3 of the Champions League, and it already feels like a must-win. After four straight defeats across all competitions, Arne Slot’s side are under pressure to find a response.

Liverpool Predicted Lineup vs Eintracht Frankfurt in UCL Match Day Three

How They’ve Lined Up

Slot has alternated between a 4-3-3 and a 4-2-3-1, neither delivering the cohesion Liverpool built their success on. The midfield spacing has been loose, and the defensive structure uncertain, leaving them exposed in transition.

Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, and Alexander Isak are all still finding chemistry, while the press, once Liverpool’s greatest weapon, has been a step slow. The trip to Frankfurt offers a chance to reset.

Recent Form

Fifteen goals conceded in eleven games and only twenty scored. For a team with Liverpool’s attacking quality, that’s nowhere near enough. The tempo and sharpness that defined last season have faded, and the balance between defence and attack hasn’t clicked.

Wirtz is still adjusting to Slot’s system, while Alexander Isak is finding his rhythm after a slow start. Cody Gakpo and Dominik Szoboszlai have been among the few consistent performers, but Liverpool need far more from their front line. At the back, Ibrahima Konate’s inconsistency continues to unsettle a defence that has looked unusually vulnerable.

Team News & Injuries

Liverpool cancelled their scheduled pre-match press conference, leaving no fresh updates ahead of the fixture. Ryan Gravenberch hasn’t travelled due to an ankle injury, while Alisson Becker and Giovanni Leoni remain long-term absentees.

With no new information from the club, the starting setup is expected to follow recent patterns. Joe Gomez is likely to partner Virgil van Dijk in defence, with Jeremie Frimpong and Andrew Robertson operating as full-backs. Curtis Jones is expected to start alongside Szoboszlai in midfield, supporting Wirtz behind the front three.
