New Move Still Possible Tonight After Tottenham Hotspur Loan ‘Collapses’ After Late ‘Pull Out’

Another move regarding Crystal Palace has collapsed tonight, after Marc Guehi’s big transfer to Liverpool never materialised. Now, Manor Solomon’s loan to South London will not be happening, though there is still hope for Tottenham Hotspur to get their player a temporary move, with windows open in other countries.

Tottenham Hotspur Loan Collapses Though Moves Still Possible Tonight

Spain and Portugal Options for Manor Solomon

Alasdair Gold has reported that Solomon’s loan to Crystal Palace now “collapses” due to the Eagles’ wishes. Both teams had initially signed a deal sheet, which would allow the transfer to be completed after 19:00 BST (the usual deadline). Gold reveals that Spurs had agreed to Palace’s terms, only for the South London outfit to “pull out” late on. It is unclear why.

Despite the English window closing, there are still some options for the forward. It has been reported that Porto hold an interest in him, with their transfer window not closing until midnight tonight. However, it appears that Spain may be the destination. Their window closes at 23:00 BST, which had been the usual time for English clubs in recent years.

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Villarreal are working on a last-minute move for the 26-year-old, presumably on a temporary basis. Matteo Morretto believes that a deal is close.

What Is the Long-Term Plan?

Solomon reportedly sees his future at Tottenham beyond this season, though it will surely be a struggle to break into the team. At 26-years-old, he isn’t viewed as a rising star, and also isn’t viewed as a current star given his competition. With the acquisitions of the likes of Xavi Simons and Mohammed Kudus this summer, it is difficult to see where Solomon would find minutes.
