Newcastle vs Arsenal Confirmed Lineups for September 28

Alexander Isak Breaks Silence With Explosive Newcastle Statement

The future of Alexander Isak at Newcastle United has been the story of this summer’s transfer window. Liverpool have made it clear they want to sign the Swedish striker, but his relationship, and potential exit from St James’ Park, continues to sour. Isak has now been included in the Premier League team of the season for the 2024/25 campaign, and reacting to that news and his uncertain future, the Swedish striker has released a statement on his Instagram account.

Alexander Isak Addresses Newcastle United Future

Isak Releases Statement Following PFA Recognition

The statement released by Isak Read:

“I’m proud to be recognised by my fellow professionals with a place in the PFA Premier League Team of the Season for 2024/25.

First and foremost I want to thank my teammates and everyone at Newcastle United who has supported me along the way.

I’m not at the ceremony tonight. With everything going on, it didn’t feel right to be there.

I’ve kept quiet for a long time while others have spoken. That silence has allowed people to push their own version of events, even though they know it doesn’t reflect what was really said and agreed behind closed doors.

The reality is that promises were made and the club has known my position for a long time. To now act as if these issues are only emerging is misleading.

When promises are broken and trust is lost, the relationship can’t continue. That’s where things are for me right now – and why change is in the best interests of everyone, not just myself.”

Liverpool Interest

Liverpool made their intentions clear when they bid £110m for Isak, which was rejected. Since then, no further offers have been made, but the speculation has continued. According to BBC Sport, any potential departure for Isak would depend on Newcastle United signing two new strikers.

The next offer is expected to be in the region of £120m, but a move to Liverpool appears to hinge on Newcastle bringing in two forwards. The Geordies have been linked with several targets, including Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen and Brentford attacker Yoane Wissa.
