Wrexham Predicted Lineup

Wrexham Predicted Lineup vs West Brom for August 16

This is a Wrexham predicted lineup for their EFL Championship clash with West Bromwich Albion. The Dragons got their campaign off to a disappointing start following a 2-1 defeat against Southampton. With games already coming thick and fast how will they rotate here to keep everyone fresh?

How Wrexham Have Lined Up Recently

Danny Ward and Arthur Okonkwo have shared goalkeeping duties so far. Connor Coady, Lewis Brunt, and Max Cleworth have played as a back three, as have Dan Scarr, Eoghan O’Connell, and Aaron James. James McClean, Liberato Cacace, Ryan Longman, and Ryan Barnett have operated as the wing-backs.

In midfield, there’s usually a three-man block featuring Matty James, George Dobson, Lewis O’Brien, Harry Ashfield, Elliot Lee, or George Evans. The front two has seen Kieffer Moore partner Josh Windass, and Sam Smith partner Ryan Hardie.

Wrexham Recent Form & Tactics

Phil Parkinson uses a 3-5-2 setup to play what should be resilient football. His team will happily lose the posession battle but can use the energy of the wing backs and the physicality of the striker duo to make quick progress when they do have the ball. The team are still trying to find what works at Championship level after a quick climb up the football pyramid.

The 2-1 defeat to Southampton saw the side get almost played off the field as the Saints played their controlled system. The 3-3 draw with Hull in the EFL Cup was a better look at what Wrexham can do as they nabbed three goals despite losing the possession battle. The defence will have to shore up after letting in five in two matches but their scoring touch will come in handy if they want to plant their flag in the second division.

Wrexham Injuries to Consider

Ollie Rathbone has been absent since an injury suffered in pre-season. Moore came off injured in his debut with his status up in the air. Andy Cannon is still recovering from a long-term injury while Jay Rodriguez is working his way to match fitness.
