Wolves Push To Sign LaLiga 2 Right-back Amid Italian Interest

Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly making a strong push to sign Spanish right-back Marc Pubill, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The West Midlands club have opened negotiations as they aim to secure the 22-year-old ahead of competition from several Italian clubs.

Wolves Open Talks With UD Almería Right-Back Marc Pubill

Strengthening An Area Of Need

Right-back is potentially an area of concern for Wolves; Nélson Semedo’s contract has expired, and there is currently no news on whether he intends to sign the four-year deal that Wolves have on the table. Pubill’s profile aligns with what Wolves are seeking: a young, athletic, and tactically flexible player.

Known for his recovery pace, strong tackling, and willingness to support the attack, Pubill offers qualities that would suit both a back four and a wing-back system. He made 40 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring one goal and assisting four times.

Premier League Ambitions For Pubill

A move to Molineux would mark a significant step in the defender’s career. Despite Almería’s knockout in the Promotion Playoff semi-final last season, he impressed with his maturity and physical attributes. At 6ft 3, he has the build to cope with the Premier League’s demands and is considered a player with high potential. Wolves are keen to complete the deal quickly to avoid being beaten to his signature by Serie A clubs, several of which are said to be interested.

The move aligns with Wolves’ ongoing transfer policy of signing young talent capable of development under Vítor Pereira. Pubill’s signing would reflect the club’s ambition to rebuild with a dynamic, youthful squad heading into the 2025/26 season.
