The Club World Cup is a new and interesting competition for fans, players, and the teams themselves. With a mini-window behind us and the actual window now open, there is the opportunity to register players for the competition who have just made moves elsewhere. Can Chelsea Register Joao Pedro & Jamie Bynoe-Gittens for CWC?

While neither deal is officially announced, it should be noted that both have been given the go-ahead from credible journalists. Jamie Bynoe-Gittens of Borussia Dortmund has received the “Here We Go” treatment from Fabrizio Romano.

Should the deal go through the Blues will unfortunately not be able to register the young attacker. He was already included in Dortmund’s squad for this tournament and despite his limited playing time he is now cup-tied and will have to wait until later in pre-season to make his debut for his prospective new club.
A Familiar Pipeline
Stop us if you’ve heard this before but a Brighton & Hove Albion star is on his way to London. The ultra-reliable David Ornstein has indicated that Joao Pedro to Chelsea is a done deal with agreements done on all sides. The attacker who can play out wide, up front, or behind the striker could add some versatility and firepower from the wide areas.

Should the deal get done and announced officially by July 3, then Pedro would be eligible to register for the knockout phase of the Club World Cup. Assuming he’s fit and the necessary red tape is complete he would be allowed to feature against Palmeiras in the quarter-final.
One of two isn’t the end of the world for the Blues who will at least be able to welcome Gittens to the fold when the Premier League returns. For now, there will be a rush to get the deal officially completed with the Seagulls to add another attacker to their ranks for the later rounds of the CWC.
