Celtic Predicted Lineup vs St Mirren for May 17

Celtic Predicted Lineup vs Bayern Munich on 18 February

After losing the home leg by two goals to one, it’s mission impossible for Brendan Rodgers’ men. Should they make the last 16, they must win on Tuesday night by two goals, or by one and go through on penalties. The Bhoys will go in as heavy underdogs against the German giants. How do they approach such a mammoth task? We answer just that on Last Word on Football, with our Celtic Predicted Lineup.

How Celtic Have Lined up Recently

Rodgers made a couple of changes on Saturday. In came Anthony Ralston and Jeffrey Schlupp at fullback, meanwhile Luke McCowan and Yang were handed Premiership starts.

On his first league start, Schlupp impressed. The loanee was positive in his passing and linked up really well with Jota on the left-hand side. Apart from that it was the status quo who took to the field.

Celtic Recent Form and Tactics

Celtic’s 3-0 win against Dundee United was a solid performance. As usual, Kasper Schmeichel had little to do while the home side dominated proceedings. Truthfully though, Tuesday night is an altogether different challenge.

What the reverse fixture showed was that Kompany’s men will dominate the ball from the off. At Celtic Park though, they were often passive on the ball. So often, they rotated possession deep into the Hoops’ final third but failed to pull the trigger. With a home crowd behind them, they will likely be more aggressive.

Celtic were organised out of possession last week, apart from during Harry Kane’s second goal. Rather remarkably, the Englishman was left unmarked at the back post, and volleyed home gracefully.

Although after the match, Rodgers claimed his side was rather passive in their pressing. It will be intriguing to see what approach he applies at the Allianz, as an aggressive pressing game could end badly.

Injuries to Consider

Paulo Bernardo and James Forrest remain unavailable.
