Chelsea Confirmed Lineup vs Brighton for February 14

This is the Chelsea confirmed lineup for their Premier League clash against Brighton & Hove Albion on February 14. These two sides met just days ago in the FA Cup as the Blues crashed out of another domestic competition in the earlier stages, marking a stark regression from their performance under Mauricio Pochettino last year. With Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu injured Enzo Maresca’s tactical acumen will be put to the test here.

Chelsea Team News

Filip Jorgensen starts in goal with a back line of Malo Gusto, Trevoh Chalobah, Levi Colwill, Marc Cucurella. Moises Caicedo partners Enzo Fernandez as usual in the middle of the park. Meanwhile the attacking four are Noni Madueke, Cole Palmer, Pedro Neto, and Christopher Nkunku.

Robert Sanchez is on the bench alongside Josh Acheampong, Tosin Adarabioyo, Aaron Anselmino, Reece James, Mathias Amougou, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Jadon Sancho, and Tyrique George

Chelsea Lineup: Jorgensen, Cucurella, Colwill, Chalobah, Gusto, Enzo, Caicedo, Neto, Madueke, Nkunku, Palmer

Notable Changes

Jorgensen coming in firmly slots Sanchez in as the cup/European competition keeper barring any injury. Gusto keeping his place is a suprise but could be a move to rest James and avoid overloading him to prevent his injury issues from re-emerging.

Colwill gets the nod to partner Chalobah after being rested for Tosin in the FA Cup defeat while the attacking four is the most fascinating of the bunch. Sancho being dropped means somebody else will be on the left but whether that’s Neto or Nkunku remains to be seen. Any one of the four could be used as a false nine with each showing different qualities.
