Team News, Form and Prediction as Oxford United Welcome Bristol City

Oxford United will be looking to extend their unbeaten run when Liam Manning’s Bristol City visit Grenoble Road.

The U’s played out a goalless draw at Stoke last time out, meaning Gary Rowett is eight league games without defeat since replacing Des Buckingham in December.

On top of that, the U’s have won all four home games since Rowett came in, which has seen them move from relegation candidates to a mid-table position. Those four victories mean the U’s have the fifth-best home record in the division.

As for the Robins, they’ve suffered just one defeat from their last seven games after winning against Blackburn last time out. However, Manning’s side haven’t picked up all three points on the road in their last seven games.

Oxford have no new injury concerns ahead of this fixture, with captain Elliott Moore the only regular who is still absent.

The Robins are also in decent shape in terms of injuries, with Manning able to select from a full squad for the trip up the M4.

There are also a few former U’s players in red. Marcus McGuane has made 12 Championship appearances but hasn’t featured in the last five, while Mark Sykes has made a recent return from a hamstring injury. Rob Dickie and Luke McNally have both featured plenty for the Robins at the back, with the duo also adding four league goals between them.

The U’s lost the reverse fixture 2-1 at Ashton Gate, despite taking the lead in that match. Oxford have lost the last two meetings between the sides and also lost the last time the Robins visited Oxford in 2000.

Predicted line-up: Jamie Cumming, Greg Leigh, Ciaron Brown, Michal Helik, Peter Kioso, Will Vaulks, Cameron Brannagan, Tyler Goodrham, Ruben Rodrigues, Przemyslaw Placheta, Tom Bradshaw.

Prediction: Oxford United 2-1 Bristol City
