How Liverpool Have Lined-up Recently

Alisson Becker is Arne Slot’s first-choice goalkeeper with Caoimhin Kelleher the back-up in domestic cup competitions. Kostas Tsimikas and Andy Robertson have rotated in recent weeks at left-back; a similar thing can be said for Trent Alexander-Arnold and Conor Bradley on the right-hand-side. Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk are the centre-back pairing.

Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister usually pair in central midfield, though the Argentinian was rested for Curtis Jones in midweek. Dominik Szoboszlai is Slot’s attacking midfielder.

Slot’s first-choice wingers have been Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah for the last couple months, though Luis Diaz was given a start against Lille on the left rather than in his usual position of striker. Darwin Nunez started up front.

Joe Gomez is “quite far” from a return and is “definitely not training with the team yet”.

Meanwhile, Diogo Jota picked up a “niggle” against Nottingham Forest. Slot revealed that both players will be out for weeks rather than months, with the Portuguese likely to return before the Englishman.

Jones had an issue and was substituted against Lille: Slot is “not expecting months” for his return and will “see if he’s available for PSV or Bournemouth”.
