Manchester United Predicted Lineup for Mouthwatering Derby Showdown
How Manchester United Have Lined-up Recently
Since Ruben Amorim‘s appointment, Manchester United have lined up consistently in a 3-4-2-1 formation, with André Onana ever-present in goal. The Portuguese’s first choice of back three has been Noussair Mazraoui, Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez, with Lény Yoro getting his first minutes for the club off the bench against Arsenal and Harry Maguire providing cover when needed.

Diogo Dalot, Amad Diallo and Tyrell Malacia have been vying for two wing-back spots, with Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro, Manuel Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo competing for the central midfield berths. Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho and Mason Mount have interchanged in the attacking midfield roles, with Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund each other’s competition for the starting number 9 role.
Manchester United Recent Form and Tactics
It has been a mixed bag of results for Amorim in his time in charge so far, three wins, a draw and two losses showing promise, but also the amount of work the former Sporting Lisbon coach will have to do to get United into the top half of the table and competing for trophies. As can be expected when changing playing style and tactical formation, the Red Devils have shown some improvement whilst also having the weaknesses in the squad laid bare.
After an extremely positive start to the season, question marks have been raised over goalkeeper Onana after two significant errors in the past two games, with the midfield and attack equally exhibiting teething problems in adjusting to the manager’s new demands.
Manchester United Injuries to Consider
Jonny Evans is in contention to return to the squad following the knock, with the only major injury absentee being Luke Shaw, the England left-back having suffered yet another setback his return from repeated different injuries.
