Chelsea have had an impressive start to the 2024/25 Premier League season and sit in third place in the table after 13 matches, coming off their 3-0 thrashing of Aston Villa. They are always looking for ways to improve the squad and seem to have an interest in Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens, though Liverpool are also interested.
Chelsea and Liverpool Closely Monitoring Jamie Gittens Before Possible 2025 Transfer
Which Teams Are Competing With Chelsea For Gittens?
Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has reported that the Blues are actively interested in making a move for the 20-year-old winger in 2025 and are closely monitoring his development for the Bundesliga side. They are, however, going to face severe competition for the player that Plettenberg described as a “superstar”.
It’s also stated that alongside Chelsea, the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are all scouting Gittens and have an interest in making a move to sign him. There could be certain complications for the Blues or any other club to sign him anytime soon.

That is because he is contracted to the German side until 2028 and Plettenberg further states that he is not planning a transfer out of Borussia Dortmund as of now. However, it’s also added that Gittens sees himself playing in the Premier League in the future and that the Bundesliga side could demand as much as €100 million to sell him.
Reason Behind All The Jamie Gittens Hype
The 20-year-old has been one of the most exciting wingers in the Bundesliga during the early parts of the 2024/25 and is consistently producing top-quality performances for BVB. Gittens has tormented defenders with his blistering pace, dribbling ability and has added that final product to his game over this campaign too.

The Englishman, who actually had a stint in Chelsea’s youth academy as a child, has 12 goal contributions (eight goals, four assists) in 18 appearances across all competitions this season. He has scored impressive goals against Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, showing his quality against the very best and was hailed as “fantastic” by Borussia Dortmund manager Nuri Sahin recently.
Chelsea might already have wingers like summer signings Jadon Sancho, Pedro Neto and Noni Madueke in their ranks, but they seem impressed by Gittens’ performance and might want to make a move for him if he can continue his heroics for the long term.
