Three Talking Points as Oxford United Draw Against Millwall

Oxford United put an end to their losing streak but their winless run continues after a 1-1 draw at home against Millwall.

The visitors took the lead on the stroke of half time but Tyler Goodrham netted a late leveller.

Here are three talking points from the game.

Line-Up and Formation

Des Buckingham made two changes from the side that lost at Sheffield United on Tuesday night with Matt Phillips being given his first start since recovering from injury while Elliott Moore returned from suspension.

Jamie Cumming started in goal while Sam Long moved to right-back with Moore and Ciaron Brown in the middle and Greg Leigh on the left.

Will Vaulks began in the holding role with Cameron Brannagan and Goodrham starting ahead of him.

Przemyslaw Placheta and Phillips began on the wings with Dane Scarlett leading the line as the head coach stuck with his favoured formation.

Substitutes

Buckingham used all five available substitutes in the game and they all played a part.

Idris El Mizouni replaced Vaulks at the break and added more attacking impetus with Brannagan driving forward from the deeper role, before Ruben Rodrigues and Mark Harris came on for Placheta and Scarlett on the half hour mark.

Owen Dale replaced Phillips 12 minutes later and arguably had the biggest impact, causing plenty of problems for the Lions defence, before Will Goodwin was introduced late on in place of Leigh.

Tyler Goodrham

It was an afternoon to remember for Tyler Goodrham, with the youngster netting the goal on the due date of his baby daughter.

He could have opened the scoring on 18 minutes, intercepting a ball on the halfway line before bursting forward and forcing the goalkeeper into a save.

And his strike was one of real quality, taking the ball inside onto his left and firing it into the top right corner.

As usual, he was energetic, direct and versatile, covering several positions and causing plenty of problems.
