Manchester United picked up their first win under new head coach Ruben Amorim with a dramatic 3-2 win over Bodo/Glimt in the UEFA Europa League in mid-week, and their second in a 4-0 drubbing of Everton at the weekend. It now appears that the gaffer is already impressed with Amad Diallo’s impact and has plans for him in the future.

When Is Amad’s Contract Expiring?
The 24-year-old winger has been one of the Red Devils’ most exciting players in their sloppy start to the 2024/25 season, but he is now moving into the final stages of his current contract. Diallo’s current deal, which he had signed upon joining from Atalanta in 2021, is set to expire at the end of June 2024 and there is an option for the club to extend it to 2025.

The Athletic’s Laurie Whitwell has reported that the Premier League heavyweights have now started talks with the Ivory Coast international’s representatives over a “long-term” contract. He also adds that United are eager to keep him in their squad for the long-term after Diallo was able to impress Ruben Amorim during his first match in charge. The winger, who played as a right wing-back in their 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town, was praised for doing a “great job” by the Portuguese coach as he produced an assist in that game.
Which Other United Players’ Contracts Expire In 2025?
The 22-year-old winger is not the only Manchester United player whose contract expires at the end of June, 2025. Along with him, Harry Maguire’s deal also has a similar option where the Red Devils could automatically extend it to 2025 if they wish. The likes of Victor Lindelof, Christian Eriksen, Jonny Evans and Tom Heaton are all moving into the final seven months of their contracts, which will end at the end of June, 2025 as well.

It appears that United are currently prioritising an extension for Diallo over any of these players. The exciting winger, who was hailed for his “incredible” work ethic in training by Ruud van Nistelrooy earlier this season, has scored three goals and provided three assists in 18 appearances for the Red Devils this season.
