Estevao Willian who is dubbed the “next Neymar” by many could be the key to future Chelsea success as a potential replacement for England international Noni Madueke.
Estevao Willian Will Outshine Noni Madueke And Provide Long-Term Chelsea Success
Noni Madueke Too Inconsistent?
The tricky winger saw himself have a bright start to this campaign for The Blues, scoring a hat-trick on his first appearance of the season in Gameweek Two away against Wolves. Madueke has only scored one since then, a great finish at home to Nottingham Forest in Gameweek Seven. After providing four goals, with three coming in the same game, and no assists in nine starts for the London club, questions have been asked over his consistency.

Madeueke recently hit out at a fan on social media who made a video about him, the video questioning whether he was good enough to be Chelsea’s starting right winger and suggesting he was getting “too comfortable“. The former PSV man commented: “Bro next time you want a picture speak up a bit and don’t be shy”. Some Chelsea fans view this as refreshing to see as a footballer is finally hitting back at the critics whether others are branding it as him losing his professionalism and letting the pressure get to him.
Who Is Estevao Willian?
Chelsea confirmed the signing of Brazilian, Palmeiras wonderkid Estevao Willian back in June for an eyebrow raising fee of £56 million. Bayern Munich were also interested in the talent but the player chose the Chelsea project despite Bayern offering more money according to Fabrizio Romano, proving to the Stamford Bridge faithful that they were always top choice. The fee that The Blues paid for the 17-year-old surely turned heads but “Messinho” has been sending shockwaves across the world from his performances in the Brazilian Serie A.

He scored the winner against Gremio on Friday and made history as the first under-18 in Brazilian Serie A history to reach 20 goals and assists, with 12 goals and eight assists all while outperforming his expected goals of nine, breaking Neymar’s record. Willian has also been called up to the Brazilian national team at just 17, following in the footsteps of the great Neymar, who had some words of encouragement to say about him on social media: “may you continue to fly and enchant everyone with your football. Fly“.
When Will Willian Arrive At Chelsea?
The 17-year-old phenomenon will arrive at Chelsea in the summer of 2025 with big expectations from The Blues fans despite him being so young. The Blues boss Enzo Maresca has certainly been keeping an eye on him over in Brazil, claiming he is “fantastic” and that they are “very happy with the way he is doing things”. This will surely be felt by Madueke and push him to perform at a higher level; if not, the Brazilian rising star will be swooping in to Stamford Bridge to take a starting place on that right hand side and could propel Chelsea to great heights along with the likes of Cole Palmer, Reece James, Moises Caicedo and Co.
