Chelsea Predicted Lineup vs Arsenal for November 10

Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson celebrate goal

This is a Chelsea predicted lineup for their Premier League clash with Arsenal on November 10. This is a vital clash in the race for the top four as both teams have had stumbles in the league in recent outings with pressure mounting on both sides to get a good result in this one.

Chelsea Predicted Lineup vs Arsenal for Premier League Clash

How Chelsea Have Lined Up Recently

Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen have shared duties in goal with Sanchez being the number one option and starting league matches. The defense has shifted a good bit with Reece James, Marc Cucurella, Renato Veiga and Malo Gusto have all played at left back. Gusto, James, and Axel Disasi have also played as right backs.

In the middle there’s two main pairings with Levi Colwill and Wesley Fofana operating in the league while Benoit Badiashile and Tosin Adarabioyo come in for cup and European ties.

The midfield is where the biggest change has been seen. In midweek Enzo Fernandez started as a lone pivot with Veiga inverting next to him from full-back to shore up the midfield. In other matches he’s played alongside Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in the deeper midfield role. Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia have taken over as the league duo. Veiga has also started as a defensive midfielder in front of a back four.

The attacking foursome has been relatively settled although there’s been some big changes like Tyrique George starting against Noah and Dewsbury-Hall playing on the wing against Newcastle. Christopher Nkunku, Mykhailo Mudryk, and Joao Felix have all started in cup and European ties in attacking spots. Marc Guiu made his way back into the starting eleven following a tactical switch in midweek.

The first-choce attacking four has been Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke, Pedro Neto, and Nicolas Jackon as the striker.

Chelsea Recent Form and Tactics

Enzo Maresca has started to tinker more with his formation in recent weeks, showing a flexibility both in selection and tactics. This was evdences by a 4-1-4-1 setup against FC Noah that allowed Nkunku and Felix to play as attacking midfielders behind Guiu while Veiga inverted to partner Fernandez in front of a back four.

This is similar to the fluid 4-2-3-1/4-3-3 which usually becomes a 3-2-4-1 or 3-3-4 in-possession depending on who inverts and where they pick up space in the attacking phase.

With just one loss in five, things look good for the Blues despite the 1-1 draw with Manchester United last week. A clean sheet on Thursday was their first since a cup tie against Barrow and they’ll need to keep up that defensive quality if they want to get a good result against the Gunners.

Chelsea Injuries to Consider

According to Premierinjuries, there are three absentees for this one. Omari Kellyman is listed despite being a part of the PL 2 squa and likely not being a first-team player upon his return. Jadon Sancho has been absent due to a mix of illness and a minor issue  from training. Palmer is the most notable name with his status completely up in the air for this outing with Arsenal.
