As Gameweek Six approaches, here are three defenders that could score some serious FPL points for teams this weekend.
Three Defenders to Transfer in for FPL Gameweek Six
Levi Colwill – Chelsea (vs Brighton) – £4.5 Million
The low-cost option this week comes in the form of Levi Colwill. The Chelsea central defender has played every league minute this season with the Blues keeping clean sheets in their last two games – both away – against Bournemouth and West Ham.
So far this campaign, the 21-year-old has looked assured at the back for his side and, with their weekend’s opponents Brighton on a run of three successive draws, scoring just three times, Chelsea and Colwill will be out to extend the Seagulls’ frustrating recent spell.

Brighton are also set to be without Joao Pedro who picked up an injury last weekend against Nottingham Forest; that is a big attacking loss for the seaside club as they look for a way to put a stop to this impressive Chelsea run.
At just £4.5 million and with 16 points to his name already, Colwill could be a wise pick for managers who may be on a low budget this weekend.
John Stones – Manchester City (vs Newcastle) – £5.4 Million
Fresh off the back of his 97th-minute equaliser against Arsenal on Sunday, John Stones could be a very shrewd pick this week. Not only should his last-minute leveller scream to Pep Guardiola that he deserves a return to the starting XI, but he could also slot into defensive midfield now that Rodri is out indefinitely.

The defender has played in the deep midfield role before during Pep’s experimental phases and he looks like he belongs, with there being very little to suggest otherwise. Thanks to his previous experience in the middle of the park, transferring him in for Gameweek Six this weekend has the potential to be a masterful move with the chances of him being reintegrated into the team that extra bit more likely.
Gabriel – Arsenal (vs Leicester City) – £6.1 Million
The team with the second-best defence in the league are against a team who are yet to win a game this season – surely there is only one outcome here. On Saturday, Leicester travel to the Emirates hoping to hand Arsenal their first defeat of the campaign, no easy feat when you compare the two sides’ respective runs of form.

Gabriel was seconds away from his header winning the game for Arsenal against Manchester City last time out, only for the Cityzens to level with the last kick of the game to keep their unbeaten run intact. This weekend, the Brazilian defender will be wanting to make amends against a Foxes side who are on a frustrating recent run of two draws and a defeat in the league. With Arsenal winning their last five clashes against Leicester in the league, Gabriel could be a sensible option in defence as he looks to lead Arsenal to their fourth clean sheet of the season.
