'Interest Concrete': Chelsea Ready to Make Lucrative Bid to Sign 'Extraordinary' Forward

Chelsea have had a decent start to the 2024/25 Premier League campaign under Enzo Maresca and are coming off the back of a thrilling 1-0 win over Bournemouth. But it appears that the Italian manager is also thrilled about the prospect of adding another quality talent in Estevao Willian to his squad next year.

Chelsea Thrilled About Estevao Willian Development

What Did Enzo Maresca Say About Willian?

During their eventful 2024 summer transfer window, in which they made over 10 signings, the Blues were also able to agree a deal with Palmeiras for the signing of the young Brazilian winger. As Willian is still not 18, he will be spending the 2024/25 campaign with his current club before travelling to England in 2025 to start a new chapter with Chelsea.

Maresca has voiced his delight at how well the 17-year-old is progressing in the Brazilian top division, and how “fantastic” the youngster has been this year. He spoke of him after the win over Bournemouth, saying: “Yes, we are following him. He is doing fantastic – but, unfortunately, he is doing fantastic there and not with us. We are going to wait until next summer when he will arrive here but, for sure, we are very happy in the way he is doing these things.”

How Is Willian Performing In Brazil?

The teenage sensation appears to be having a lot of fun playing for the Palmeiras senior team in the Brazilian Serie A this season and has had a blistering start to the new campaign. In just 22 league appearances so far, he has scored nine goals and provided seven assists. He has scored four goals in his last three appearances and has taken the league by storm, being the second-highest goal-scorer and having more assists than any other player so far.

Estevao’s natural position is as a right-winger and he is causing chaos in that area, with his good work also recently earning him his debut for the Brazilian national team. The 17-year-old will look to maintain his impressive development to catch Maresca’s attention and ensure he can get a prominent role in the Chelsea senior squad next season. He will, of course, face stiff competition for places in the Blues squad after they signed multiple wingers in Jadon Sancho as well as Pedro Neto earlier this summer.
