Postecoglou then stated that the 23-year-old sustained an injury, but it was “nothing serious” allowing him to hand Dragusin the starting spot.
There have been a lot of changes made in the midfield in the past three games, with James Maddison being the only midfielder who has been involved in all the previous lineups. Postecoglou will hope to get the best out of the Englishman seeing as he has registered two assists in his last three games. Against the Magpies, Maddison was partnered with Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr but was later replaced with Rodrigo Bentancur and Brennan Johnson. Son remained unchanged in the frontline, alongside Dejan Kulusevski while the latest signing Wilson Odobert was handed his second start for the Lilywhites.

Spurs were looking to extend their unbeaten run after a frustrating draw 1-1 against newly promoted Leicester City. Pedro Porro scored early in the first half, but ultimately dropped points owing to a trademark Jamie Vardy header in the 57th minute.

Postecoglou’s men bounced back with a 4-0 thrashing at home against Everton with Son, Romero and Bissouma on the scoresheet. The Lilywhites hoped to secure another win with momentum from the previous game, but Newcastle ultimately edged past them with a narrow 2-1 victory.
Tottenham Injuries and Suspensions To Consider
Latest addition Dominic Solanke who has made his first and only appearance for Spurs so far against Leicester is one to look out for, seeing as Postecoglou stated that he is close to returning but didn’t want to take any chances with the recently concluded international break. Another blow to Tottenham’s frontline is Richarlison, ruled out by a muscle injury. The Brazilian international came on for Odobert against the Toffees and played about roughly twenty minutes, with Postecoglou describing him as a “handful”.

Players like Sarr returned from international duty in good shape, but the same can’t be said for Bissouma as he was taken off following a heavy tackle. The Mali international scored the first and only goal of the game in their clash against Eswatini in the first half, but limped off in the second half after 65 minutes.
