Newcastle United Predicted Lineup Vs Wolves for September 15

Newcastle resume their Premier League season with a journey to Wolves on Sunday, September 15 at 4:30 PM BST. The Magpies look to continue their strong start to the season and take three points on the road. Here is our Newcastle predicted lineup as they look to break into the top four.

How Newcastle Have Lined Up Recently

Newcastle brought Harvey Barnes back into the starting lineup against Tottenham Hotspur, replacing Jacob Murphy. Barnes bagged himself a goal, underlining his credentials as a regular starter out wide.

Lloyd Kelly got the nod over Lewis Hall at left-back once more and performed well. However, Hall arguably offers more of an attacking threat so could be preferred against a more defensive-minded Wolves side.

Sandro Tonali has returned following his suspension but started on the bench against Tottenham. He will have a straight fight against Sean Longstaff for the final starting spot in midfield.

Newcastle’s Recent Form and Tactics

Newcastle sit fifth in the table after seven points from three matches. They are unbeaten in all competitions too, thanks to their shoot-out victory against Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup.

They are yet to win a match away this season in normal time, however. Furthermore, their results flatter their form and could have easily lost all three league matches.

On the other hand, their recent victory against Spurs was a much-improved outing. The Magpies benefit from the Tonali and Barnes’s returns, who missed large chunks of the previous season.

Kieran Trippier was linked to other clubs this transfer window but has remained at St James’ Park for the time being. However, Howe is expected to stick with Valentino Livramento at right-back.

Newcastle Injuries and Suspensions to Consider

Fabian Schar is available after he served his three-match suspension for his opening-day red card.

The Magpies suffered an injury scare when Bruno Guimaraes was replaced at half-time during Brazil’s match this week. Howe “hopes he is ok”. Joe Willock has returned to training but is unavailable for this weekend.

Callum Wilson is “behind schedule” with his injury recovery so is unlikely to feature for the next few weeks. Emil Krafth has been “nursing a problem” but has been training. He is likely to be fit this weekend.

Jamal Lascelles, Sven Botman and Lewis Miley are all out with long-term injuries. The first two are out until 2025, but Miley could return in October.
