Fabrizio Romano gave the “Here We Go!” for the 25-year-old’s transfer to South London this afternoon (August 27), with a “deal in place” between Arsenal and the Eagles that would see the Gunners receive a fee of £25 million plus £5 million in add-ons for the young Englishman, as a medical is all that’s left to take place.

Nketiah’s arrival at Selhurst Park would see him join Odsonne Edouard and Jean-Phillipe Mateta, creating an impressive group of strikers, as Palace stock up on goalscorers after losing their most creative talent in Michael Olise to Bayern Munich earlier this window.
A Move Away From Arsenal the Best Thing for Nketiah
Since joining Arsenal in 2015 from Chelsea, Nketiah has made 168 appearances for the Gunners, scoring 38 goals. Whilst never establishing himself as a regular starter for the club, he featured a healthy amount for his side over the past few seasons, not dipping below 20 appearances in all competitions since 2019/20.
However, the back end of last season and the beginning of 2024/25 proved that a departure from the Emirates seemed inevitable. He has no minutes in the first two games of this season and his last appearance in 2023/24 came on April 14 in a three-minute cameo off the bench. With Mikel Arteta seemingly favouring Gabriel Jesus over him, now seems the perfect chance for him to find another club that would give him regular minutes as he slowly approaches the prime years of his career, and Palace could be the perfect place for him to get them.

Staying in London, Nketiah won’t have to adapt too much to new surroundings at Crystal Palace, and with Arsenal firing on all cylinders in the Premier League and Champions League, the Lewisham-born forward won’t have to deal with the pressures of performing on the big stage when given minutes off the bench.
For a total of £30 million, Palace fans should be happy with the signing of Nketiah, a player they can hopefully rely on to score goals and help their club challenge towards the top half of the league table.
