‘Here We Go!’ – Bournemouth to Sign 25-Goal Brazilian Striker in Club Record Transfer

'Here We Go!' - Bournemouth to Sign 25-Goal Brazilian Striker in Club Record Transfer

After losing star talisman Dominic Solanke just under a week ago, Bournemouth have had a club record fee of €47 million accepted for Porto striker Evanilson. The Brazillian has been the subject of heavy interest all summer, with rumours emerging that he wanted to leave the Portuguese club. The Cherries had an approximately €30 million offer rejected earlier in the week, but that clearly didn’t curtail their interest in the 24-year-old.

Details of the Deal

Fabrizio Romano was first to break the news regarding Evanilson’s transfer to the South Coast, stating that there is a “deal in place worth €47 million for [the] Brazilian forward to be the replacement for Solanke”. He gave his famous “Here We Go” meaning that a medical is the final stage of the transfer.

Porto also have a 10% sell-on clause, as reported by Romano. This was then echoed by Sky Sports’ Mark McAdam, who took to X to reveal more on the financial package behind this deal. He revealed that the deal is worth “€37 million with a potential €10 million in add-ons”.

Therefore, it looks as though the Cherries will pay no more than €37 million upfront for the two-time Brazil international.

Will Bournemouth’s Newest Recruit Be Ready for League Opener?

Having not been injured since October 2023, Evanilson will arrive at the Vitality Stadium with a clean bill of health. Mark McAdam also relayed the information that the former Fluminese talent will travel to the UK in the next 24 hours. Andoni Iraola will therefore not have long to work with or assess his newest addition.

Bournemouth travel to the Midlands on Saturday, taking on Nottingham Forest on the opening weekend of the Premier League. It will be everybody’s hopes surrounding the Cherries that Evanilson will be available for selection. There will be no issues with completing or finalising the deal in time, but whether Iraola wants to throw the striker who scored 25 goals last season in straight away is a question that can only be answered on Saturday afternoon.
