Arsenal List Their Demands for Nketiah’s Transfer

According to journalist David Ornstein, Marseille have been informed of the terms they must accept if they want to sign Nketiah. Arsenal have proposed a loan move with an obligation to buy for a fee of  €30 million (£25.7 million), which is less than what they were demanding last week. It is now up to the Ligue 1 club whether or not to sanction the move.

Last week, it was reported that Arsenal wanted a fee of £30 million for Nketiah. But Marseille were not ready to pay such a huge amount, and negotiations between the clubs had stalled.

Marseille decided to look at new options after Arsenal refused to reduce their demands. But the French side’s plans to recruit Lens forward Elye Wahi failed to materialise. Subsequently, they reentered negotiations with Arsenal.

Roberto de Zerbi Wants to Sign Nketiah

The Athletic also added that new manager Roberto De Zerbi is the one leading the pursuit of Nketiah. Attracted by the sporting project at Marseille, the Englishman is keen to join them. He has already agreed personal terms with the club and is ready to sign a five-year contract.

Marseille recently lost Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who joined Saudi club Al-Qadsiah, and have since been looking for players to strengthen their attack. The Gabonese striker scored 17 league goals in 2023/24.

Nketiah has scored 38 goals in his 168 appearances for the Gunners and has become a crucial part of the senior squad. He has been an excellent professional, and his work ethic has often been praised by pundits and the coaching staff.

Nketiah’s potential transfer will free up Arsenal’s wage bill and help bring in new faces. The North London club are close to signing Real Sociedad’s Mikel Merino and might move for an attacker once this deal is completed.
