Hein was quite impressive during Arsenal’s pre-season tour of the USA. He was instrumental in the Gunners’ 5-4 penalty shoot-out victory over Bournemouth as he made two vital saves and was tipped for a “big future” by Mikel Arteta.

As the third-choice keeper, Hein will find it hard to get game-time if he remains at Arsenal. Leaving North London for a short-term loan would do him a world of good. The 22-year-old signed a new contract in June 2024.

While a loan move does benefit Hein, it is unclear whether a transfer to the third tier of English football is right. The youngster is a fully-fledged international and has made 30 appearances for Estonia. He deserves and is talented enough to play in the Championship at the least.

Arsenal have so far signed two young keepers, Lucas Nygaard and Tommy Setford. Both players were recruited for the academy and hence are unlikely to even make the first-team squad this season.

As things stand, Aaron Ramsdale is the back-up goalkeeper at the Emirates, but there is a lot of uncertainty over his future. Apart from Newcastle United, not many clubs have shown interest in him due to the asking price.

With less than two weeks left until the 2024/25 season, Ramsdale is expected to be on the bench unless something drastic happens in the transfer market.
