Fabrizio Romano has reported that Atletico Madrid are now growing a bit impatient over their transfer pursuit of the England international and want to get the transfer concluded as soon as possible. The journalist adds that the La Liga side have already had a £34 million bid accepted by the Premier League club for Gallagher, but have not been able to agree personal terms with the midfielder himself.

Romano claims that the Blues currently want their energetic midfielder to join Atletico Madrid, but that all depends on whether or not he prefers a move to Spain right now. It’s also added that the London club have set upon the task of finding a solution over Gallagher’s future soon. “It is their priority” to get this issue resolved as soon as possible, as they are determined not to lose him for nothing next year, once his contract expires.

How Are Chelsea Pressurising Gallagher to Make Decision on Future?

Chelsea appear to be doing everything possible to pressurise their youth academy graduate to make a decision on his future. The Blues are reported to have banished Gallagher from their training ground. This comes after it was reported that the midfielder rejected the club’s latest contract offer and seems to be adamant about not extending his deal beyond 2025.

Romano states that the London giants are adamant about not losing any other top player on a free transfer after having suffered from seeing Antonio Rudiger run down his contract and join Real Madrid in 2022. Gallagher, who was hailed for his “exceptional” pressing ability last year, still does not seem to be sure about what he wants in the future and is stuck in a bit of an awkward situation heading into the beginning of the 2024/25 season.
