‘Sensational’ Arsenal Player Contemplating Move to Rival Club; Leaves Fans Fuming

Arsenal, Emirates, Manager Mikel Arteta

It always hurts when a promising player decides to quit your club, and it’s even worse when his destination might be a rival club. Arsenal fans are in store for such a situation as youngster Chido Obi-Martin is weighing up his next move with Manchester United one of the options being considered.

Multiple Clubs Interested in Obi-Martin

According to journalist David Ornstein, Obi-Martin has become the subject of interest from Manchester United. The Danish forward visited the Red Devils’ Carrington training facility this week and is reportedly in early-stage discussions with the club over a transfer.

Earlier this month, Arsenal submitted an improved offer to convince Obi-Martin to stay at the club. Mikel Arteta wanted to retain the striker, but the teenager decided to leave because he believed there was a lack of a clear pathway to the first team at the Emirates.

Bayern Munich, Newcastle United, AS Monaco, and Frankfurt have also contacted the player, who will arrive at a final decision on his future in the next few days. Obi-Martin’s decision has disappointed the Gunners’ faithful, who took to social media to vent their frustration at the club’s inability to keep hold of the “sensational” attacker.

Will Obi-Martin Get Enough Game Time at Manchester United?

Any striker with Obi-Martin’s talent would want to play for the first team as soon as possible, but a move to United doesn’t make much sense.

Erik ten Hag already has two young strikers, Rasmus Hojlund(21) and Joshua Zirkzee(23), at his disposal. Both players are recent acquisitions, especially Zirkzee, who joined just a few days back. They cost a combined fee of around £100 million, and there is no way the manager will prefer Obi-Martin over these two, even in the domestic cup competitions.

Besides, ten Hag can also deploy the experienced Marcus Rashford to lead the attack if needed. In such a scenario, one wonders how Obi-Martin would break into the first team.

This transfer story remains one to watch as the young forward makes a decision over the next few days.
