Arsenal Reject Bid for Midfielder With ‘Killer Instinct’ as Suitors Keep Chasing

FPL Tips: Three Arsenal Players to Strengthen Your Squad for Gameweek 1

With the transfer market in full swing, clubs have started lodging official bids for their targets. In the latest move, Arsenal have taken a key decision on the offer from Fulham for midfielder Emile Smith Rowe.

Fulham to Keep Chasing for Emile Smith Rowe

Fulham Bid Falls Short of Arsenal Expectations

Fabrizio Romano stated that Arsenal have rejected Fulham’s first bid for Smith Rowe. However, the West London club will not be deterred and are preparing to return with a new offer. The Gunners have set a £40 million price tag on their player.

Fulham recently sold defensive midfielder Joao Palhinha to Bayern Munich in a record-breaking deal. They are planning to spend a large chunk of that money on Smith Rowe, who was revealed last month as the Cottagers’ priority transfer target.

But, according to journalist Nizaar Kinsella, Arsenal will not force Smith Rowe out of the club as he is a popular figure in North London. They would do a deal only if it benefits all parties involved. The 23-year-old is desperate for playing time and is bound to get plenty at Fulham.

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, is a big admirer of Smith Rowe and has always praised him. After last season’s win against Luton Town, he singled out the Hale End product’s ability to play with a “killer instinct”. He said: “I love him as a player, he is a joy to watch. He went into duels and won a lot of them and was thinking with that killer instinct to play forward and make things happen.”

Other Clubs Interested in Smith Rowe

Crystal Palace are another club who have shown serious interest in Smith Rowe and are expected to submit a bid. But it remains to be seen if they would match Arsenal’s demands.

The Eagles have already lost their star player Michael Olise to Bayern and they might lose another in Eberechi Eze, who has been linked with multiple clubs in this transfer window. Smith Rowe would be the perfect replacement if Eze decides to move away from Selhurst Park.

Any funds Arsenal receive from Smith Rowe’s potential sale will be accounted for as pure profit and will help them stay within the limits of the Profit and Sustainability Rules. A transfer is very much a possibility if Arsenal’s valuation is met.
