David Ornstein has revealed that Arsenal’s ‘rising star’, Reiss Nelson, may want a transfer away from the Emirates.

In The Athletic, Ornstein revealed that Nelson has “informed the club that he wants to assess his options for a potential transfer this summer”.

We interpret this as meaning potential loans or permanent moves. Nelson has spent temporary spells at Hoffenheim and Feyenoord in the past, and at 24 years old seems unlikely to break into the first team. He will surely be looking for a permanent move if he does leave.
Current and Previous Interest
Ornstein revealed that “approaches for him arrived in January” but Arsenal rejected them as they required depth to fight on two fronts: for the Champions League and the Premier League.
He explains that at current, there is interest from Crystal Palace, Fulham, Nottingham Forest and West Ham United.
Arsenal’s Valuation
Ornstein reports that Arsenal want “about £20million including add-ons” which isn’t a cheap price for a player who hasn’t played over 300 minutes in a Premier League season since COVID-19.

However, he does have the valuable experience of being in the Arsenal squad for the past two title-challenging seasons.
Who Would He Suit?
All four of the mentioned clubs would be suitable destinations for Nelson.
West Ham does seem to be linked with every winger under the sun. They have already announced Luis Guilherme for a reported €30 million and have recently been linked with Matias Soule for £35 million. Should the Hammers announce a second pricey winger, we expect their interest in Nelson to die.
Nottingham Forest would be a good fit: wingers from other Big Six clubs, such as Anthony Elanga and Callum Hudson-Odoi have integrated well.
Crystal Palace is another side where young, creative players have flourished previously. Nobody needs reminding of the seasons that Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise are coming off of.
Nelson would also fit in well in a rapid front three with Rodrigo Muniz, and the trip across London is more than convenient.
