What Did Ten Hag Say About Malacia And Others?
The Red Devils currently have a few players on the sidelines with injuries, which includes their summer signing Mason Mount, defenders Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka as well as Dutch full-back Tyrell Malacia, who has not played a single minute of football in the course of this season so far.

Speaking on the situation of these players, especially with the mysterious injury that has sidelined Malacia, Ten Hag said: “First, Aaron Wan-Bissaka will take some weeks because he picked up another injury in the training last week. Mason Mount and Tyrell Malacia will take some more weeks. He [Malacia] had setbacks during his rehab process; it takes too long, it’s bad for him. Bad for us. But now we’ve turned a point and it’s positive – he will return soon on the pitch. I don’t think then it will take long before he’s returning in the team training.”
The United manager also spoke on Luke Shaw, who picked up an injury in the recent win over Aston Villa and said: “Yes, so he is doubtful for the weekend but we are positive he can make it. So, he fell out [of the game], it was a precaution [to substitute him] and I think it was the right decision, especially when you, afterwards, win the game. But we are working to Sunday.”

What Has Kept Malacia Out For So Long?
Malacia and Mount have been sidelined for the longest of the current injury list. The English midfielder last made an appearance in November, but the Dutch left-back has not had any game-time at all. The Red Devils had stated earlier in the campaign that Malacia had suffered a knee injury towards the end of last season and had to undergo surgery for that, but it’s clear that he’s had complications in the recovery phase.
His injury led to the club signing Sergio Reguilon on loan from Tottenham Hotspur for the first half of the campaign. Malacia, who made 39 appearances in his debut campaign at Old Trafford, will be pushing to make a swift return and contribute to his side’s success in the second half of the 23/24 season.
