The journalist adds that a final decision on whether James will be undergoing surgery will be made in the next few days as the club tries to support him and find the best way to bring him back into action as early as possible. Romano further claims that Chelsea “are really worried” about their captain’s situation because they want him to be at his best possible state to perform at the high levels going forward.

When it comes to the plans being made to help the Englishman get back to full fitness from this issue, Romano wrote on his blog: “Chelsea are in talks with medical specialists about how to help and prevent this issue from becoming an even bigger problem. Everybody hopes James can come back even stronger.”

When Could James Return From Injury?

The 24-year-old, who was hailed as “sublime” for his performance against AC Milan last season in the Champions League, has been plagued with a number of horrible injuries over the course of the year and has already missed 10 games with injury problems in this term. His hamstring issue keeps troubling him, which is why the club want him to undergo surgery.

It has been reported that James is expected to be out of action until at least March with his latest injury blow. Mauricio Pochettino, fortunately, has a few options to cover for him, with the likes of summer signing Axel Disasi and Frenchman Malo Gusto being among the ideal options to play in his place. Apart from the right-back, the Blues also lost the likes of Marc Cucurella and Robert Sanchez to injuries recently and are struggling to gain momentum due to all the injury problems.
