Michael Kayode’s Former Manager Has His Say

As per Romano, Kayode’s former manager, Antonio Soda, thinks that North London could be a suitable future destination for the defender. In a recent interview, he said: “(Future?) It depends on Fiorentina, which is an important club, but if they were to sell him, it would have to be a team like Arsenal.”

Soda, who managed the Italian at Serie D club Gozzano, also believes that he is a strong player who is capable of representing his nation in big tournaments very soon.

Recent Contract Extension

The 19-year-old joined the Florence-based club from the fourth division only this past summer but has already impressed fans and managers with his ability. I Viola head coach Vincenzo Italiano has called him a “fearless” player for someone who is so young. He is capable of taking on defenders and providing an added dimension to the attack.

However, Romano adds that he is very happy at Fiorentina, having signed a contract extension three weeks ago. Whether Arsenal’s interest manifests into something concrete is one to watch.

Arsenal’s Righ-Back Dynamics

The Gunners could do with a player of a different profile at right-back. Although he has performed admirably, current starter Ben White is a center-back by trade. Summer signing Jurrien Timber is also on the sidelines after suffering a long-term injury on his league debut. Takehiro Tomiyasu who is starting in White’s absence is also linked with a move to Bayern Munich.

Michael Kayode could definitely be a shrewd piece of business from Mikel Arteta and one to keep an eye on in the months to come.
