How Chelsea Women Have Lined Up Recently

There is some consistency emerging in the first team with injuries settling a tad and the manager finding her optimal setup/lineup. Ann-Katrin Berger has been the number one choice in goals with Millie Bright and Jess Carter undroppable ahead of her. Niamh Charles has been playing on the left with Ashley Lawrence getting the nod over Ève Périsset in midweek on the right.

Sjoeke Nüsken and Erin Cuthbert are the primary choice in defensive midfield with Fran Kirby, Jessie Fleming, and Johanna Rytting Kaneryd getting the attacking spots in the absence of Guro Reiten and Lauren Jame’s concussion. Veteran goalscorer Sam Kerr has been the striking option in recent matches.

Historically, this has been a team that makes slow starts but this season they have immediately gotten into the swing of things and have a lot of momentum coming off their clash with Real Madrid in the Champion’s League.
