How Bayern Munich Have Lined Up Recently
In their shocking German Cup defeat to 1. FC Saarbrücken, the Bavarians started with Manuel Neuer in goal, as Bouna Sarr and Alphonso Davies played on the outside back positions, while Matthijs de Ligt, as well as Kim Min-jae, were the centre-back pairing.

Bayern Munich Recent Form and Tactics
Before the team’s elimination from the domestic cup competition, Bayern had a five-game winning streak overall. Yet, as we have warned throughout this season, there are major problems plaguing the Bavarian super club. While it is certainly possible that a game as big as this will unify the squad and help them secure a big win in Dortmund on Saturday, the opposite could just as easily be the case, causing them to crumble. They will most likely line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation again, although a player or two might have to play out of position.
Bayern Munich Injuries to Consider
The personnel situation before Der Klassiker is dire. Coach Thomas Tuchel told the media that he hopes to fast-track either Dayot Upamecano and /or Leon Goretzka into the team, depending on medical considerations. Meanwhile, Raphael Guerreiro is likely to miss out again, as de Ligt is back on the injury list and Kimmich sits this one out, due to suspension.
