Manchester City Bid
The Citizens have offered West Ham £80 million upfront and £10 million in add-ons, per Sky Sports. While Arsenal also submit a bid worth £90 million, the Gunners offered only £75 million upfront. According to Fabrizio Romano, the North London side are “still in.”
Mikel Arteta’s team led for the majority of last season before Pep Guardiola’s charges made a late swoop for the championship. It would not be surprising if the Gunners were to fall once more in the race for Rice. West Ham have already rejected two bids from Arsenal. The Citizens now have their own taste of rejection. Manchester United also “have an interest in Rice,” but risk breaching Financial Fair Play rules according to Sky Sports News’ previous report.
Rice And Rodri: A Desirable Couple
Guardiola already has a legion of capable midfielders, but Rice could be just the player to spice things up. It would be like curry and… well, rice.
The 24-year-old played in 50 matches across all competitions this season. Likewise, Rodri started in 52 games this season. Their combination of stability and reliability could be something to fear, assuming the Manchester side wins the race for the Engish footballer.

While the bid from Manchester might be slightly more desirable, the Premier League runners-up still have the edge in this race. It is heavily rumoured that the midfielder favours Arteta, according to Football365. Arsenal are preparing a third bid for the West Ham man, but it will have to be somewhere in the ballpark of £100 million. One thing is for certain: this is one of Arsenal’s most important transfer windows in recent vintage
