Tottenham Hotspur currently have three names in their list of new goalkeeper signing options, confirms Fabrizio Romano. They remain in the race to sign Brentford number one, David Raya, but are also assessing other options to potentially replace Hugo Lloris, including Guglielmo Vicario and Giorgi Mamardashvili.

Spurs Include Guglielmo Vicario in Goalkeeper List
The Lilywhites faced a lot of trouble when it came to their goalkeeping department last season, with Hugo Lloris struggling with injuries and his replacement Fraser Forster just not being able to perform at a high level.

Romano adds that Spurs have now included Serie A side Empoli goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario in their list of goalkeeper targets after he impressed in the Italian top division last season – keeping seven clean sheets in 31 appearances.
It’s also added that the North London side have also started contacts with Giorgi Mamardashvili’s agents to be informed of the conditions of potentially signing him from Valencia. These are the three options that Tottenham are currently thinking about as they work hard to get a new goalkeeper for Ange Postecoglou before the start of the pre-season campaign in July.

It is also stated by Romano that the Lilywhites have already agreed personal terms with Raya over a potential summer move, but the stumbling block over this deal is Thomas Frank’s side demanding £40 million to let him go – something which Daniel Levy doesn’t want to dish out.

Due to this, they have had to add other goalkeepers like Vicario – who was hailed as an ‘excellent goalkeeper’ by former Italy number one Ivano Bordon last season. Mamardashvili was a pretty consistent and reliable figure for the La Liga club last season, keeping nine clean sheets in 42 appearances.
For the time being, Spurs seem to have the Brentford man as their primary goalkeeper target, but his high valuation and the Bees’ refusal to lower the price is why Tottenham is being forced to keep conversations going for other targets.
